H.M.Pasties is the latest addition to Groundwork MSSTT’s successful suite of employment initiatives which include:
Blue Sky North
Blue Sky North is a successful grounds maintenance and landscaping social enterprise with a difference – we only employ ex-offenders. By offering real jobs with an established company and providing on-the-job learning and mentoring, we aim to break the cycle of reoffending and challenge perceptions about ex-offenders. Through our approach, both as a main contractor and within supply chains, we provide excellent social return on investments for our customers. Of our leavers, 47% move into permanent employment and only 15% have reoffended – this is one quarter of the national average.
Greater Manchester Talent Match
Greater Manchester Talent Match is a Big Lottery-funded programme bringing together the private, public and voluntary sectors to support young people aged 18-24 who have been out of employment, education or training for twelve months or more and who need extra support to help them along their pathway to work. Working alongside many other organisations, our Talent Coaches offer one-to-one, long-term support to young people who may face barriers to employment as a result of being a lone parent or carer, having alcohol or drug misuse issues, having health problems or being an ex-offender.
Operation Re-org, our ex-military skills for employment programme funded by The Royal British Legion, helps veterans who have struggled to find permanent employment because of difficult personal circumstances such as physical injuries, mental health problems, substance misuse issues, homelessness or having a criminal record. The aim of the programme is for veterans to progress into sustained employment and gain long-lasting positive changes in their personal circumstances as a result of having a regular salary and routine, the opportunity to learn new skills, increased social interaction and improvements in confidence and feelings of self-worth.
